Scarred and traumatized, ex-Marine Sergeant Joshua Cobb can no longer function amid normal civilization. He's retreated to the mountains of Alaska to live in solitude, where he can battle his personal demons in peace.
Life is harsh in the untamed wild, especially when he has to face other creatures who are also trying to survive. But the bears and wolves and other dangerous animals are no match for the two-legged variety who see Joshua as easy prey.
He has no idea that the injured wolf he rescues will become more than a companion. It will also save his life, and show him a love he only believed was possible in fairy tales.
Because the wolf, Qitirin, is more human than anyone could imagine.

It was fun and interesting and enlightening and and I enjoyed my time these two wonderful and loving and complex characters , ok , he was far more complex than her but I had fun and I loved how good for each other they were.... I've read enough Shifter and shifter type stories that if I had all the money I paid for them back I could go on one hell of a weekend getaway or a really awesome shopping spree ;) and this was very different from and anything I've read before and in a very good way,I loved how simple and uncomplicated their love was in soo many ways and how the only drama came from with out by others, between them it was just simple, beautiful and very very healing for them both...Even though it was Josh's healing we heard most about we know she was healed as well... I always love a story that leaves me wanting more but not because the story felt unfinished or stopped before all their voices were heard... I'd like more but only because I enjoyed it soo much, like a good meal that leaves wanting just one more bite ;)

Qitirin eBook Linda Mooney Reviews
A different kind of werewolf story. But it works the characters are believable and very interesting. Great writing and bam you have a great story.
Kept my interest. Loved the characters. Makes you believe that maybe. There are creatures like that existing in our world.
I like this book. It's short and sweet. Linda Mooney is one of my favorite author, and this book is an example of why.
Good little story. I enjoyed it
Short but sweet, a good quick read with the expected supernatural element. Was nice
The story of an ex-marine suffering ptsd. He withdraws to the mountain above his old childhood home to try to recover his sense of peace. His emotional scars are as deep as his burn scars following the encounter with the i.e.d. which killed his men. The story begins to get interesting when he rescues a wolf caught in an illegal foot trap rigged with teeth and staked near one of his own snares. I won't say more to spoil the story except to note the observation of a law officer at the end of the story that the government and doctors were beginning to recommend the use of dog companions for victims of ptsd. I loved the twists in the story and it's ending. My only real complaint is I would have liked there to be more, at least an epilogue from further in time. I would have made this a five star but for the grammatical errors. There weren't a lot of them but enough to be distracting. It certainly won't keep me from seeking out more books by this author. In fact, I have already enjoyed three others and have my eyes on several more as I can afford them. I definitely recommend this author to anyone looking for a different point of view in their adventures. This author writes paranormal and sci-fi as well.
