When Bill Gross, the Nobel-prize winning CEO of Idealab—a pioneering technology incubator in Pasadena, CA—teams up with the head of the Caltech Theoretical Physics Department, Dr. Paul Sinclair, to develop a next-generation quantum computer, they stumble upon the greatest discovery in human history time travel. As they begin experimenting with their new quantum time travel technology, they quickly learn that Earth is facing the threat of imminent attack. Using their newly developed time travel technology, the unlikely team of quantum physicists and high tech entrepreneurs must devise a plan to address the impending invasion by the most dominant civilization in the universe.

With the help of the United States Special Forces, DARPA, the President and some extraordinary men from Earth’s past, their team must travel between the past, present and future to find technologies and allies that can help them save the world in 2015. But altering timelines to save the future yields unexpected results…

TimeWars Manifest Destiny eBook Jason Fairchild Erika Giselle Santiago Jenny Jensen

TimeWars is a totally unique and gripping time travel story. A team of Caltech physicists work with a high tech incubator to develop a quantum computer and stumble on a time machine instead. Only to find out that Earth will be wiped out in 30 days by a superior race of expansionist aliens. Wow. From there the race is on.

What's also unique is the explanation of how the time travel tech was developed, rooted in modern day, cutting edge physics. I'm no technologist, but the author brought me through some advanced concepts (String Theory, resonant fields, relativity, etc.) and I actually followed--and believed--how the team developed time travel.

I also liked how the author brought in familiar characters from Earth's history into the story. Really unique and fun approach that made the story more compelling.

Throughout the book I kept asking myself, "what would i do in that situation" and I found that the book delivered fun and believable answers to that question.

Really good read. Look forward to book 2!

TimeWars Manifest Destiny eBook Jason Fairchild Erika Giselle Santiago Jenny Jensen Reviews

All I can say is "Where's the next damn book?!" Highly entertaining and very well written. I love time travel books and thoroughly enjoyed this, hopefully, first installment. Keep writing, Jason, and let's get on with the story!
OK so I remember delving through the Dodge City and then Collinsville, IL libraries when I was a teen I must have read every single Scif book in both of them. OK, they were small libraries. this book brings back all those wonderful memories of those places. With the action and the science to back it up. This is a good read! ( no I'm not related to the author)
Free was an awesome price for this. It was an enjoyable science-fiction comedy. The scientific or pseudo-scientific idea were fascinating, and most of it tied directly in with ideas I have been exploring. This book.was an engaging read, which I plowed through in a single sitting.
The novel starts out slow, building up the characters and technological backstory, but builds pace and by the conclusion you are left wanting more. I consider myself a time travel aficionado and really enjoyed the premises and ideas in this story. Well worth your time.
This man is not big on insignificant details, but wrote the best time travel book I have read in months. I literally read only this book. That is to say I usually read about 4 books at once and skip around as I grow bored, but this one got my undivided attention. Great tale, mixed with quantum physics. Give it your undivided, and enjoy!
I'm going to preface this review by stating that I am not a science fiction fan, so this subject was really outside my scope of interest. And I don't read a lot of science fiction so I don't have the ability to compare to other sci-fi authors. However, after reading the book I am officially hooked and looking forward to the follow up book. I am now vested in the story line and would like to see how and if Jason can take the characters and their new reality into the future and/or past!

Overall, I felt that Jason did a great job in setting up the plot and story line, so after I got through the science education build up (ie. string theory, physics, etc that was way over my head but very necessary to set up the plot), I was able to enjoy the ride. The book has all the qualities of a good read - great story line, developed plot, engaging characters, and a fairly good suspense build up. One thing I would hope to see in his future books would be some more character development to help personalize their fight for humanity. For example, there is no mention of wives, children, or families for any of the main characters so it makes the characters very linear - just involved in their work. Why are they fighting to save the world, if not for a loved one or family member(s)?

So, even if you're not a sci-fi buff like me, I would recommend this book because it was a fascinating and engaging story. Also, it has a great cliffhanger at the end that will want you coming back for more!
Jason Fairchild does a great job of setting up a fast-paced universe that realistically combines the frenetic energy of high-tech start-ups and ground-breaking quantum physics discoveries pitted against an unmovable deadline of global destruction by an alien entity. His passion for physics shines through and appeals to wonks and English majors alike, and his inclusion of several real life characters adds to the mix of fun and fascination as the story unfolds. This book does a solid job of pulling you into the rapid clip of the unfolding events, from the energy of joining a start-up, the excitement and wonder associated with the remarkable discovery of what happens when you dive deep into string theory with a helping of quantum physics (time travel!), the importance and rigor of scientific testing, and the horror the heroes of the book experience when they discover that Earth will be under attack in a matter of weeks by a seemingly overwhelming alien force. Fairchild manages to both end the story satisfactorily while leaving the reader wanting more, immediately! Highly recommended and enjoyable.
