Michael Hague's illustrations are gorgeous and I was not disappointed, having

only seen the cover when I ordered it. His unicorns are strong and vital

and don't remind me of drippy-eyed Precious Moment-type animals that you

sometimes come across when the subject matter is unicorns. Kinuko Y. Craft

is someone you should look into if you like MH's work.
It's a wonderful book to give as a present to a young reader.
I've always enjoyed this book. The story is lovely and the illustrations are beautifully done. I would recommend this book highly!

Not as good a reprint as I would have hoped. Oh, the story is wonderful the illustrations are lovely but the paper quality ,the color the bidding just aren't the same as I got my children way back in the late 70's early 80's . My suggestion is , this book is a classic . In it's best form it is an heirloom to be past from child to child and from parent to child.Tthis particular copy will never hold up. take the time and extra money and go find an old edition.
This book gives me chills when I read it.
I can't wait to have kids so I can read it to them! - currently building up my library for kids.

What I found wonderful was that the king and his daughter are black... I love that! Being white, I find that a lot of books are white centered. I do love that this is a beautiful, environment friendly book with people who won't look like my kids!
