I love how Ari is finally finding her voice in this book. She is finally not letting people push her around. But she still has the compassion for her fellow person. Her powers are wonderful it’s really neat how she’s learning about them and how they are guiding her to where she needs to go. Like the 1st book I couldn’t put it down I can’t wait for the 3rd one to see how it keeps going. This is something I will read again!

Enlightened Ascent, Book 2 of The Pearson Prophecy, resumes Ariah's journey to discover the extent of her elemental powers. The story starts as Ariah escapes her birth kingdom of Agrolon with Prince Samuel of Orlon. Meeting strangers along the way and missing her family, she begins to have doubts about making Orlon her new home. Destiny seems to have other plans in store.

I felt that this story had a more engaging start than the first book. It jumps immediately into action, all the while exploring Ariah's emotional state in dealing with the betrayals from Book 1. It had me very engaged. I also thought the contrast between the three kingdoms represented in the text was quite interesting--they each have unique functions and terrain. I was also happy to see changes in Ariah's mindset and not just a growth in her power. She truly seems to come into her own by the end of the novel.

I did feel, however, that Ariah could have spent a bit more time exploring Orlon and that the testosterone levels of most of the male characters could have been turned down a notch. I have a feeling that the former will be important to Book 3, and the latter sometimes makes me want Ariah to do her own thing without any love interest. I also am very curious about the war that is brewing and what the prophecy means for it.

Overall, though, I found Enlightened Ascent a very enjoyable read. I am anxious for Book 3 and hope it answers all my questions!
I had purchased this book before I read the first one. I think this is a better book. At least this book ends at a somewhat logical place.
This is book number two in the series. I am so falling in love with this series and this story cause it has strong characters and a wonderful story line. I am so glad I was able to read this I loved it.
There is so many emotions that hold you to the book to the very end. Can't wait until book 3 comes out. Hold on to your kindle. You will love this series.
I’m determined to get through this series Jen L. Grey wrote. Again, this book hasn’t been edited. The majority of the time our main characters are eating. The plot is thin with all the eating scenes.

If Jen L. Grey is not one of your one-click authors, she should be! The second book in her series is even better than the first. Prepare to buckle up as you're swept away with Ariah on a fast-paced rollercoaster of plot twists, romance, amazing characters and an ending that will leave you begging for more. Bravo on another fantastic fantasy novel!
